Belonging begins with Salvation
True belonging doesn't begin with a membership or a meeting; it starts with a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Before you can ever truly find your place in a church family, you must first experience the peace of belonging to the One who created you and gave His life for you. By accepting His free gift of salvation, you are adopted into a permanent family that transcends any earthly organization. Jesus changes everything!
Belonging is expressed by Baptism
Baptism is the natural next step for anyone who has decided to follow Jesus with a sincere heart. Think of it like a wedding ring—it is a beautiful outward symbol of a deeply personal, inward commitment to Christ. By being baptized, you are publicly identifying with Jesus and unashamedly declaring Him as your personal Savior.

Belonging through Church Membership
Once you have found your home at Cross Roads Baptist Church, we encourage you to make it official by becoming a member of our family. Belonging to a local church provides the spiritual accountability, pastoral care, and support every Christian needs to flourish. We believe that being a member isn't just about a list; it’s about committing to grow, serve, and walk through life together. One can join through one of these three methods:
- Baptism: If you have already trusted Christ for salvation but have never been baptized, you can join our congregation as a candidate for baptism. Christ commands all saved believers to follow Him in believer’s baptism by immersion. Once you are baptized, you will automatically be placed on our membership roll.
- Transfer of Letter: Cross Roads will receive letters of membership transfer from other Baptist churches whose doctrine and statement of faith align with our constitution.
- Statement of Faith: If you have already trusted Christ for salvation and have been scripturally baptized, and furthermore, agree with our doctrinal statement of faith, you can join by a profession or statement of faith. Oftentimes, this is necessary if you or your former church cannot locate records of a past membership.
